2. Automatically Collected Information
Currently, Carfolio is designed with a strict privacy focus:

- ❌ NO Crash Reporting tools are active.
- ❌ NO Location tracking occurs in the background.
Important: Carfolio works primarily offline. All your sensitive vehicle and expense data is stored locally in an encrypted database on your device. We do not have access to your financial or trip records.
How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information collected to:
- ✅ Display and manage your vehicle garage.
- ✅ Calculate fuel efficiency, cost-per-kilometer, and spending trends.
- ✅ Authenticate your user session via Google Sign-In.
- ✅ Allow you to export reports (PDF/CSV) for your own use.
Data Storage & Security
Local Storage
- All vehicle, trip, and expense data is stored in a secure Room Database on your device.
- Receipt images are stored in your device's private app storage.
- This data is fully under your control and is deleted if you uninstall the App.
Authentication
We use Google Firebase Authentication solely to verify your identity.
- We only receive your email and basic profile information to create your user ID.
- We do not use this to track your activity across other apps or websites.
Third-Party Services
Carfolio integrates with the following trusted service:
Firebase Authentication (Google)
- Purpose: Secure user sign-in.
- Data Shared: Email address (for identification only).

Carfolio requests minimal permissions to function:

- Why: To allow you to take photos of receipts or attach existing images to expenses.
- Your Control: You can deny this permission and manually enter expense details.
🌐 Internet (INTERNET)
- Why: Strictly for Google Sign-In authentication.
Data Retention
- Local Data: Stored indefinitely on your device until you uninstall the App or clear app data.
- Account Data: If you delete your account via the Google Sign-In provider, your authentication record is removed.
Children's Privacy
Carfolio is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as we add new features (like Cloud Backup or Crash Reporting in the future). We will notify you of significant changes via an app update or notification.
